About Us

MWC was originally founded in 1928 with water purchased from the City of Buckley. The water was supplied through approximately 4 miles of 2-inch steel water main.

In 1974, MWC drilled and equipped Well No. 2. This well is located east of the intersection of 258th Avenue East and Sumner-Buckley Hwy E. This well was drilled to a depth of 215 feet and had a capacity of 350 GPM. This well was initially equipped with a 40-hp pump and motor. Over time, the capacity of the well has decreased. MWC rehabilitated the well in 2002 and saw minimal increase in well capacity. Well No. 2 currently has a 7.5hp motor install in June 2004. The well has a current capacity of 75 GPM.

In 1980, MWC drilled and equipped Well No. 3. This well is located 1.5 miles southeast of Well No. 2 along the Sumner-Buckley Hwy E. This well was drilled to a depth of 234 feet and has an initial capacity of 243 GPM. A 15-hp motor and pump were installed. This water is pumped directly into a 70,000-gallon reservoir that is located adjacent to the well. Two booster pumps are installed at this site to provide water to the system. In 2002, Well No. 3 was rehabilitated in order to regain some of the lost capacity.

In 2008, MWC installed a new 12-inch well source. That source was 220 feet deep and now feeds the new reservoir constructed in 2013.

In 2013, MWC constructed a new 132,000 gallon reservoir and triplex variable speed booster pump station and pump house. In 2015, MWC purchased the Golden Valley Estates water system and constructed 4800 linear feet of new 6-inch HPDE water main to replace aging existing 4 inch main and to serve the GVE reservoir. The new service line provides the GVE system with water produce from MWC wells. This allowed the high nitrate wells of GVE to be removed from service.
